Date: 9 August 2021

20/08/2021

Service NSW has now confirmed that businesses impacted by the Armidale, Tamworth and any other regional area lockdowns under the Public Health (COVID-19 Additional Restrictions for Delta Outbreak) Order 2021 (previously Temporary movement and gathering restrictionscan now apply for the NSW Covid-19 Business Support packages, provided all other eligibility criteria are met.

Therefore, from next week, clients impacted by the Armidale and Tamworth regional lockdowns will fulfil the part of the eligibility criteria stating:

  • they experienced a decline in turnover of 30% or more due to the Public Health Order over a minimum 2-week period within the Greater Sydney lockdown (commenced 26 June and due to end 28 August 2021), compared to:
    • the same period in 2019, or
    • the same period in 2020, or
    • the 2-week period immediately before lockdown commenced (12-25 June 2021)

Therefore, provided all other eligibility criteria are met the JobSaver or COVID-19 Micro Business Grant will be accessible for these businesses.

Please note that the 2021 COVID-19 business grant provides a one-off cashflow support payment to help businesses that experienced reduced demand or had to close due to the public health orders applied to Sydney in the first 3 weeks of lockdown 26 June to 17 July 2021. Therefore, unless your business has been affected by the Sydney lockdown during that period, generally, you will not be eligible for this grant.
