Class Ignite Conference

For two days on 24 and 25 September Alistair Galbraith, Ryan Pinkerton and Leila Short attended the annual Class Ignite conference in Sydney. This event provides a great opportunity to learn about recent legislative changes, get a sneak peak at the latest product updates Class are developing and network with industry peers. The event kicked off with a welcome from Class CEO Tim Steele, who gave some insights into where Class as a business is at and revealed a few things Class are working on:

• A Class ‘AI agent’ that can analyse our data base and provide insights and enhanced reporting
• A dedicated client portal in partnership with MyProsperity, that will allow secure sharing of documents with clients and allows clients to view their Fund performance and reporting whenever they like.
• A Class ‘virtual mail room’ that will assist in recognising documents, coding them in Class and filing to a Class document management system.

From here, the sessions split off into streams that were focused on either technical updates or delved deeper into getting the most out of the Class software. Some interesting sessions included:

• Streamlining Class administration – managing the data feed console and business level processing in bulk
• Tips and strategies for Exempt Current Pension Income compliance
• A residential housing market update from PropTrack
• Insights from the 2025 Class annual benchmark report
• Supporting clients investing in Cryptocurrency via SMSFs
• How AI is being used by todays accountants
• Electronic signatures – where they can and can’t be used
• Client portals – managing client relationships in a more secure way
• Adding value to the small business CGT concessions

The two days then concluded with an inspiring and humorous keynote (that included a few too many standing squats) from Turia Pitt, who provided some perspective on her recovery from burns to 65% of her body after being caught in a grassfire during an ultramarathon. Turia spoke about the importance of resilience and determination and how improvement is not a linear line and there will always be good days and bad days. Overall, it was a great couple of days and gives us a renewed focus on some of the RMS strategic projects.
