Introducing our newest Partner…

Date: 22 March 2024

Robert Waters advanced to Partner on the 1 March 2024, recognising his experience and professionalism and being a valued member of the Armidale and Glen Innes Business Services teams. We asked Robert a few questions about his new role and his time with us at Roberts + Morrow…

Please introduce yourself and what you do…

My name is Robert Waters and I work in the Business Services team based out of the Glen Innes and Armidale offices.

How long have you been with R+M?

I have been with Roberts + Morrow for a little over 18 years. During that time I have worked primarily in the Business Services team with a few years in between the Superannuation and Audit team.

What does it mean to you to be part of R+M?

It is about being part of a team and providing services to clients together – no one is an expert in all areas so it is great to have a team to collaborate and problem solve with.

How did you advance to Partner?

Through mentoring from various Partners and working as a Manager, I realised that I wanted to be part of the Leadership Team. This led to my submission to be considered as an Associate. Being an Associate is an important step as you actively participate in decision-making processes, collaborating with the broader leadership group, and taking on increased responsibilities both with clients and business development.

What are you looking forward to at R+M as a Partner?

More hands on work with clients, in particular the areas of tax planning and structuring, as this is an area I am especially looking forward too. One of the most satisfying parts of my role is working closely with clients in their business.

What is the best piece of advice you have received?

The best advice I have received was from a colleague who told me to “Make the most of the opportunities you receive”.
